In Mahabharat 'mlench' king Kalayavan is mentioned. Does 'yavan' or 'mlench' mean muslims?

Muslim are the follower of Islam and Islam is less than 1500 years old only, so Yavan can’t be Muslim. Yavan in Mahabharata are the people of western kingdoms. So yavan may be today’s Persian, Arabian or even Roman or Greeks

Ravan is called Yavan in southeast Asian Hindu and Buddhist Pali literature. The one alphabet transfer of some alphabets is commonly seen in those times such as ra became ya, sa became ha etc. I'm really intrigued if Yavana had to do with this.

Or Yavana could be related to yavan meaning youthful appearance. The Ioinian Empire, the first Greek Empire started few hundred years after the Mitanni and Hittite kingdoms both of which were Vedic kingdoms, in the same region where the Vedic kingdoms ruled.

History has been lost in the mist of time
