This is the famous Uppiliappan/Oppiliappan temple in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu, India. One of the 108 Divya Desam of Lord Vishnu.

    Story:

Lord Vishnu appeared as an old man, asked sage Markandeya his adopted daughter's (Goddess Lakshmi) hand in marriage. The sage was aghast because he did not want to give his daughter's hand to an old man. So he mentioned that his daughter does not know how to cook. Lord Vishnu said that he will eat food that does not even have salt. And then, Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi took their original form and blessed sage Markandeya.

So when we taste the naivedya/prasadam inside the temple premises, it will not have salt.
